Stormy
a beautiful, young male kitty that after having him neutered/vaccinated and tested was sadly positive for Feline Aids. The home I had arranged to take him, no longer wants him.  He shows absolutely no symptoms and is the most loving and sweet kitty I have ever met. All he wants to do is to be touched and scratched and eat...he eats like a little horse! His rescuer is desperate to find help for him as she is highly allergic and has asthma.  Please read more about this misunderstood disease below:  The Feline Immuno-deficiency Virus is a slow virus that affects a cat's immune system over a period of years. FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be spread to humans or other non-felines. FIV cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all. FIV is not easily passed between cats. It cannot be spread casually - like in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing. It is rarely spread from a mother to her kittens.  The virus can be spread through blood transfusions, badly infected gums, or serious, penetrating bite wounds. (Bite wounds of this kind are extremely rare, except in free-roaming, unneutered tomcats.)  A neutered cat, in a home, is extremely unlikely to infect other cats, if properly introduced.  FIV-positive cats should be kept as healthy as possible. Keep them indoors and free from stress, feed them a high-quality diet, keep and treat any secondary problems as soon as they arise. This kitty shows no signs of any illness and will almost certainly live a long, healthy lfe. All he needs is someone to give him a chance.

This is a courtesy listing. Zeke and Aiden were rescued the other day; the white one as I said playing with a leaf on the double yellow line in the road. His brother was on the side of the road watching. They are brothers and I think they were just dumped. They are very sweet and affectionate; took right to the litterbox, they've been alone in my attic for two days now and they do not go outside the litterbox. They have a good appetite, beautiful coats and don't appear to have any illnesses. They are very playful and alert. They must have been hungry, for a few days at least, because they go crazy when I bring them their food. These babies are living in my attic now, because I have two adult cats in the house and don't want any mayhem or harm to come to anyone. I would like these little ones to have a safe, secure and stable home. Is that home yours???? If so, contact me today.

This is a courtesy listing.  Jasper is the boy. Jezabell is the girl. They are brother and sister- 5 years old. They still have their claws, but have never scratched on anything except the cat tunnel carpeted thing. They do go outside if you let them, they hadn't gone outside until I was very pregnant and it became a battle to keep them inside. They have crunchies and water out all day and split a can of wet food every morning. Jasper is literally the scaredy cat. He usually runs away when people come over but at night he likes to snuggle. Jezabell is a cuddlier as long as you don't mind being kneaded with claws! She is always the center of attention. We have had 15 people over to watch a football game and have had to put a chair out for her! I would love to be able to keep them but that just isn't an option at this point. I would much rather them go to people who would be able to love them and enjoy them and not have to chase them around with a swiffer behind them cleaning up every hair that comes off of them.
Minnie
is a 3  year old black and white long hair cat. She is spayed and has her claws.  Her current owner moved in with her boyfriend in February 05 and his dog goes after Minnie when ever he has the chance.  The owner thought  things would get better where the dog would get used to Minnie, but it has only gotten worse.  Minnie has been living in a finished basement since March 05, because she is scared to death.  The owner can't bear for Minnie to be stressed and decided to find her a new home.  If you are ineterested in giving Minnie a forever home, please contact us today!
Devin
is a darling little kitty cat.  She is looking for a forever home with her brother Damien.  Please contact us today to set up a time to meet her.
Damian
is sweet as pie and has so much energy.  He wants to play constantly.  He is scheduled to be neutered with his brother Daniel and sister Diedra.  Contact us today to meet him.
Reba and Reno
The cats names are Reba and Reno. They are brother and sister and approximately 3 years old. They are spayed/neutered and declawed on all four paws. Their personalities are both extremely affectionate, although the boy (Reno) tends to be wary of strangers. But once he knows you he'll always be around you. Reba has no fear and will approach anyone. Both enjoy sitting on laps and being brushed.
Dougie
is also looking for his forever home.  He is very sweet and lovable. He is scheduled to be neutered once he reached 2 pounds. He tested negative for leukemia/fiv.
Diedra
is looking for a forever home.  She is so sweet and lovable.  She is a lap cat with lots of love to give.  She will be spayed once she reaches 2 pounds.  She is negative for Leukemia/FIV.
Daniel
is also looking for his forever home just like his sister "Diedra". He is very sweet and lovable. He is scheduled to be neutered once he reached 2 pounds. He tested negative for Leukemia/FIV.
Minnie Pearl
Minnie Pearl's owners got a new puppy that tormented her, so they decided they didn't want her anymore and left her at the vet to be euthanized. She has been living at the vet hospital in a cage for months now. She is gaining weight and is so very sad missing her owners that abadoned her. She is looking for that special home and has lots of love to offer. She's a 5 year old spayed female who is very sweet and likes to be brushed. If Minnie is the cat for you, please contact us today!
History
got his name because he became just that! HISTORY, at the shelter that housed him for 5 months, where he cowered in the back of his cage scared to death of all the barking dogs. This poor guy has been overlooked so often and bypassed by all the potential adopters because he was just so frightened. With the shelter over run with so many animals and foster homes being so few and far between, "History's" time at the shelter was up! And as the saying goes, he would have been HISTORY if it weren't for one of our foster mom's. Thankfully, one of SWRO's wonderful volunteers happen to be surfing the web and saw his picture with a big bold sign saying Urgent. That is when she contacted the volunteers at the shelter and managed to pull this cute little kitty. "History" is just adorable! He has been neutered, vaccinated and leukemia/aids tested negative. "History" is shy at first, but after three days in foster care, this cute little boy came out from underneath the bed and decided the bed is much more comfortable than on the floor. He will make a terrific cat for anyone and if you want a laid back cat, "History" is just that. He is a sweet little guy who needs someone to love him and a permanent home. Is that home yours?
Doc Hollywood
is name just so because he looks like a kitty from out of Hollywood. He is a beautiful black and white long haired cat with a bushy tail. He has pretty gold eyes and is very affectionate. Poor "Doc Hollywood" was abandoned left to fend for himself and finding shelter into an elderly lady's basment. But he is now with an SWRO volunteer and his safe and warm. He is very friendly and playful. Please come and meet him, you will not be disappointed.
Ink Stain
Say hi to Ink Stain (Spot). He is an adorable kitty that one of our volunteers rescued from outside. He was born outside and was smart enough to allow our volunteer to catch him. He is EXTREMELY friendly. He will jump up on your lap and purr for hours. He LOVES to play and run through the house. He also likes to play hide and seek. He hides your sock and you seek it out right before you have to leave for work. He does take a little time to warm up but in a couple of days he settles right in and takes the run of the house. He plays with the other 4 cats and even likes to jump on the dogs (3 German Shepherds). Stain is a PERFECT cat and will make a perfect pet for that special someone. Stain will cuddle with you, but he doesn't like to be picked up too much. He'll run away and then he'll come right back to cuddle with you again.
Buddy
is such a great cat! He is affectionate, he purrs a lot and he is always meowing for attention. He rolls over on his back as soon as you start talking to him. He would make a perfect pet! But unfortunately, this adorable kitty tested positive for FIV. You can see all his old wounds from being beat up on the street, but that didn't stop him from being the incredibly sweet cat that he is. Despite his terrible life on the street, he is just so grateful to be safe inside with a nice warm bed to lay in and good food to eat. He has a hearty appetite. He has been neutered, vaccinated, leukemia/aids tested, advantage has been applied for any fleas and wormed. He is looking for a forever home to call his own. Despite his many scars and scabby skin, he is on the road to recovery where his beautiful orange medium hair coat will fill out and he will gain weight as he is rather skinny. I can assure whoever adopts him will be so happy owning a terrific cat like "Buddy".
Dori
has been in foster care with us a little over two years now. Dori is about three years young. She came into rescue pregnant and very sick. Unfortunately, she lost all of her babies, but was happy to have her health back. She has the sweetest little meow and has her favorite spot is on the couch at night. She avoids other cats and dogs, but enjoys lounging in the afternoon with her 4 year old human. (she loves kids!) She really deserves her own home. She is spayed, UTD with her shots and has been FIV & FELV tested=negative.
Mama & Babies
will be looking for their forever home once the kittens are weaned and old enough to eat on their own. Please contact me today for more information.

ADOPTED! Three girl kittens sisters looking for their forever home, they are all ten week old littermates. If you are interested in adopting these kitties, please fill out our online adoption application so that we can put you in touch with their foster DaD. Please feel free to drop us an e-mail if you have any questions.
These two adorable brothers are around 5 months. They are scheduled to be neutered on this week. They are up to date with vaccines, and their mother and one brother (who have been adopted) were tested negative for FIV/FeLV. They are the sweetest, almost dog-like kittens I have ever seen. I would love for them to go to a home together as they are very attached. (but beggars can't be choosers right?) I have had then since they were 8 weeks.. poor guys are growing up in a cat room.... Please give these guys a forever home together. Contact Sherri today for more information.
Zoe
is BEAUTIFUL. She is around 8-9 weeks old. She had her first distemper vaccine and will be leukemia/aids tested this week. She is a fluffy little thing, that may be part persian. Donations are always welcomed >^,,^<
Angel
is a very sweet, very funny, extremely outgoing kitten. She will run to greet anyone and anything. Her and her 3 siblings were surrendered to rescue half dead. They all died and even the mom in the end passed. She somehow survived and has such a personality! She is a little spit-fire! Her mother tested negative for leukemia/aids.
Meadow
is such a darling little kitty that was living outside of a boarding home. The people that lived there were feeding her and her four kittens. When "Meadows" kittens were weaned, they were all adopted by the people living in the home but poor "Meadow" was left outside. Heartbroken and depressed, "Meadow" was searching all over the neighborhood for her kittens. She couldn't find them anywhere. Luckily, a guy notified his parents and they came right over and searched for "Meadow" but when they arrived, she was no where around. After calling her name, she appeared and they packed her up in a carrier and she spent the night in their basement until they could drop her off to SWRO. "Meadow" is searching for a new home, is that home yours? If so, contact us today!

Jax & Marley
are brothers that were adopted out 3 months ago. But unfortunatley, their owner lost his job and his house and was forced to move in with his brother and his family. Sadly, he wasn't able to bring his kitties with him:-( So once again, they two incredibly sweet brothers are looking for a forever home together. They were born on May 21, 2005. They have been neutered, vaccinated and leukemia/aids tested negative. They are both very sweet and comical. Their owner had a list of affectionate things that they do, all were very cute. If you are interested in adopting these kitties, please contact us today and start by filling out our online adoption application.

Angelo
Cute and Adorable "Angelo" is looking for his forever home. We believe that he was abandoned by his previous owner (why, we certainly don't know, because he is an absolute luv bug). He is skinny and very hungry, but will be fattened up while in foster care. He has since been brought inside, had a flea topical applied and he has been neutered, vaccinated and leukemia/aids tested negative. He is sweet as pie and very affectionate. But we at SWRO don't expect anything less from an orange tabby cat. The people that alerted SWRO about "Angelo" called him "Jello" saying you can never have too much Jello, hence is how we came to naming him "Angelo". If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out our online adoption application today!
Gnoti
is such a great cat! I can assure whoever adopts him will be so happy owning a terrific cat like "Gnoti".

Porter & Portia
"Portia" was found on the street with her only son left, "Porter". "Portia" had three other kittens that most likely were killed either by tom cats or just by living the harsh life on the street. You could tell that at one time or another "Portia" was a housepet. She is very lovable and affectionate. She loves to be held and rubbed. But you could tell that she is missing her 3 other kittens as she seems a little sad and depressed. She has a hearty appetite, probably because she thinks it will be her last meal for a while. She is looking for a home together with her son, "Porter". Is that home yours? She is scheduled to be spayed and vaccinated. She has tested negative for leukemia/aids.
Porter
along with his mom, "Portia" was found on 7th & Porter streets which is how they got their names. They are the two most affectionate, loving kitties and would absolutely love to get a home together. The 3rd picture shows both Porter & his mom. Porter is so cute, when I found him, he was on a lawn chair laying on top of his mom sound asleep with his paws stretched out. He is scheduled to be neutered, vaccinated and is leukemia/aids tested negative.
Livey
is a doll baby! She is just so sweet. She has a stub of a tail and is just so cute. She is very affectionate and mild mannered. I feel in love with her instantly. She has been spayed, vaccinated and leukemia/aids tested negative and is looking for a home to call her own. She would love to go into a home with other animals so that she can cuddle up with them. She is a cuddler. For more information or to set up a time to meet "Livey", contact us today.
Tessie
is a beautiful girl who unfortunatley lost her owner as he passed away not too long ago. Poor "Tessie" is mourning his passing and is hoping that she can find a new home to help fill that void in her life. She is a healthy girl that is up to date on vaccines and is spayed. She has the sweetest dispostion and is looking for a lap to lay on. Please contact us today if you are interested in giving "Tessie" a forever home.
Clancey
is so handsome! He is a very nice cat and is looking for a new home. He has been neutered, vaccinated and leukemia/aids tested negative negative.
Marmalade
I am looking for a loving home for an abandoned neighborhood male kitty who today was diagnosed with FIV, we call Marmalade. Neighbors and I have been looking after him since his owners moved and left him behind. Today I took him to my family vet to be neutered and checked out and was told he has HIV, but is not symptomatic. I'm having them give him a complete work-up and, with 3 of my own (my next-door neighbors have 11, and the others who also take care of him have 4) I'm torn about taking him in. Yet, I cannot bear to keep him outside, although I'd be sure to administer the antibiotics, feed and shelter him, and take him to the vet. I am so hoping to have a special needs home where he can live out his life with love, and other kitties (which he seems to like!).
Crosby
is the cutest little kitty. He is very playful and fun to watch, he is the last kitty left in his litter but he won't be here long as he is just as cute as can be. If you are interested in adopting him or meeting him contact us today. He will be neutered in about a week. He tested negative for leukemia/aids.
Kayan
is a special needs kitty. He was surrendered by his previous owners. His treating vet believes that he was severely abused. He has neurological problems, is deathly afraid of people and has several healed fratures. Since we have no proof of his previous abuse, all we can do is care for him. We believe it will be almost impossible to place him into a new home because he is very scared and needs alot of patience and physical care. We will most likely wind up fostering him until his days on earth are gone. Please help us, help Kayan by sponsoring him, a small donation would help us continue to care for his special needs. Please donate today!
Chloe & Zoe
are sisters that were adopted as kittens when they were taken away from their feral mom living on the street. The woman that adopted them when they were kittens, moved away and just opened their door and let them go outside. One of the other neighbors saw them and adopted them as older kittens. Then she decided one day that she didn't want them and again, opened her door and let them outside. Of course, neither were spayed and became pregnant. They were hanging around this kind woman's house and wanted to come inside badly but unfortunatley, the woman couldn't bring them inside because she already had cats. She didn't know what to do and contacted SWRO. SWRO took them in and will foster them until their kittens are born and weaned and then they could be spayed. If you are interested in adopting these kitties, contact us today!

Montel & Arsinio
are so cute! They are looking to be adopted together as they play rough and tough and have a ball. But when its time to go to bed, they settle down. They are both very smart. You'll find Arsinio climbing your leg if you get his wet food out to slow, Monty will be up next if you don't put it down soon enough. Contact us today to meet these two darling kitties.
Purry
got his name because all he does is Purr. He is such an incredible cat with an awesome purrsonality. He is so affectionate and very people oriented. He comes up to anyone that wants to give him some attention. He is a lap cat. The picture of him does him no justice, he is so much cuter in person. The only time I could snap a picture was after he had his neuter surgery because all he wants to do is be picked up and be with you. As you can see from his photo, he still looks a little sedated. Please come and meet "Purry" for yourself, I assure you, you won't be leaving without him.
Kylie & Kirby
Cute & Adorable "Kylie & Kirby" will be looking for their forever home once they are weaned from their mom. They are were born on May 22nd, 2005. Keep checking back for more photos.
Katie
and her kittens were found and surrendered by a wonderful caring woman. Katie is sweet as pie and has a purr as loud as a motor. She is a cute orange and white domestic short hair. She will be looking for a home shortly, she has be be spayed once her kittens are weaned. Contact us today for more info.
Barnaby
was tossed out on the street like garbage, left to fend for himself. This cute little bun-bun is the sweetest. He is litter trained and very well behaved. He loves romaine lettuce and his little rabbit treats. Please adop this boy today.
Kitties
These adorable little kitties will be looking for their new home in a month or so. Keep checking back for updates.
Zach
was living at an office where he was found with his brother Shug. The employees were feeding him but he needed to be moved out ASAP because one of their staff is allergic to cats. "Zach" has been neutered, vaccinated, leukemia/aids tested negative and treated for fleas. "Zach" is a sweet little boy that lets you do just about anything to him. He is real easy going and is looking for a forever home. Is that home yours? If so, contact us today.
Elmer
is a real affectionate kitty looking for his forever home. He started following the founder's cousin as she was walking home from work one day. She asked everyone in the neighborhood if it was someones cat but everyone told her he was a stray. She kind of figured he was a stray since he looked very skinny and you could see his ribs. Not to mention he wasn't neutered yet. He has since been neutered, vaccinated and leukemia/aids tested negative. He has been wormed, had a bath and had advantage applied for any fleas he may have had. He is ready to go to his forever home, is that home yours? If so, contact us today!
Lea
is a lovable tortie cat that was also rescued from a dangerous situation in Monmouth County, NJ. She was about to be poisoned by uncaring, uneducated people (if you want to call them that) because they "don't like cats". All she does is purr. She seems so incredibly happy to be inside safe and out of harms way. SWRO with the help of a loving family that lives in Monmouth County has been rescuing each kitty one by one. "Lea" is scheduled to be spayed, vaccinated, leukemia/aids tested, wormed, microchipped and will be given a bath. Won't you please be so kind to adopt her so that SWRO can rescue the rest of her colony? Fill out the adoption application today.
Willie
is a great kitty! He has been through so much in his three years of life. He is all skin & bones, scrounging for food all over. He was living behind a dumspter when SWRO trapped him. Although, he is a loving kitty that is very affectionate he was very scared and kept running away so he needed to be trapped. Right now, Willie is hospitalized, he is having blood tests, fluids, and x-rays done. When Willie was finally caught he had several wounds and abrasions on his legs, nose and on the pads of his feet. He looked as though he was abused with the peculiar wounds all over his body but unfortunately, no one will ever know what happened. He will be nursed back to health by the Founder of SWRO since she is a certified veterinary technician (animal nurse) and eventually will be placed into a loving home. He will be given lots of tender loving care while in foster care. Willie does have a heart murmur which needs to be closely monitered. Please check back often to read updates and to see when he will be ready for adoption.
Manny
was born to a feral mom cat who unfortunatley has been injured. Manyy along with his cute littermates were swept up and taken into safety where they will receive lots of TLC and a nice clean warm place to sleep. As you can see from the photos, he has a slight upper respiratory infection but with the help of antibiotics, he will clear up quickly. He was born on March 21, 2005. He will be looking for his forever home once he is neutered & vaccinated. He tested negative for leukemia/aids.
Moe
was born to a feral mom cat who unfortunatley has been injured. Moe along with his cute littermates, Manny, Jack & Jill were swept up and taken into safety where they will receive lots of TLC and a nice clean warm place to sleep. As you can see from the photo, he has a slight upper respirtory infection which will clear up in no time with the help of antibiotics. He was born on March 21, 2005. He will be looking for his forever home once he is neutered & vaccinated. They tested negative for leukemia/aids.
Jilly
Cute & adorable "Jilly" is the sister to "Manny, Moe, & Jack". She was the last kitten of the feral mom to be trapped in the neighborhood. She was born in March 05. She is looking for her forever home.
Champ
is a semi feral cat rescued behind an ice cream palor. A volunteer of SWRO is working very hard on socializing him so that he can be placed into a loving home rather than re-releasing him to his colony. He has been neutered, vaccinated and will be leukemia/aids tested once he trusts people more. For more info on this little fellow, please contact us today.

Ripley
believe it or not has been living in a small cat carrier for the last 5 years of his life! Not a cage but a carrier, something that you use to transport cats back and forth to the vet. This poor boy was never let out of the carrier. Food was dropped in the front of it and if he was lucky he got some water to wash it down. "Ripley" was living in a warehouse but then the warehouse closed down and the warehouse worker took him home. They guy tried finding shelters that could take him in but they all said it was almost certain "Ripley" would have been euthanized. The guy that cared for him and left him in the carrier thought in his own mind that living the last 5 years in the carrier was more humane than euthanizing him. I'll never quite figure out why the man didn't let him at least have full run of a bathroom at least but I guess I'll never know. The woman, Mary that is friends with the guy, begged and pleaded for him to let the kitty go. Once he agreed, Mary contacted SWRO for help. She said she has called so many places but no one has offered to help poor "Ripley". How could anyone turn away this sweet boy is beyond me.

Ripley is an incredible cat. He is so gentle and sweet. You would never believe that he went through what he went through because he is just a darling. He hasn't quite figured out what to do with the toys I gave him but that is just a matter of time. He will be showered with love and attention while he is in foster care with a SWRO volunteer and I can guarantee once he is aclimated to a large area than a cage he will have full run of whatever room he choses. This poor baby is looking for a forever home, someone that will give him all the love and attention he deserves. If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out the adoption application today!

Quincy
is such a huggable, lovable teddy bear looking kitty, with such cute and adorable eyes. He kneads with his paws on anything he can find and purrs constantly. He follows you all over the place and you even find you are tripping over him. He is looking for his forever home, is that home yours?
Kringle
My name is "Kringle". I got my name because I was found on Christmas Eve among a feral colony where I was getting beat up. I was brought inside to safety where I've been getting delicious meals on a regular basis. I just love that friskies stuff that they feed me, I lick my bowl dry. Oh and I love those catnip pouches and they offer me too. I roll all around in my cage with my feet in the air doing the bunny kick. I am real affectionate, you know a typical lovable orange tabby cat. I love to curl up in your lap and take a nap. I love to be rubbed under my chin and I get along well with other cats. Although, my roomate, "Meadow"(also pictured on site) doesn't like me too much, maybe its my big Tom Cat Head that she doesn't like. Since I wasn't neutered at a young age, my jaws grew real big and I have a big head, so maybe that is why she always hisses at me. I am fully vetted, wormed but I tested positive FIV. Having FIV doesn't mean I can't get a home because it is only contagious through deep, aggressive puncture wounds and I wouldn't hurt a fly so no chance of that. I just can't wait to go to a new home where I will be showered with lots of love and attention. I promise you will just love me, please give me a chance and set up a time to meet me so you can see for yourself.
Bentley & Quincy
Sweet & Adorable "Bentley" & "Quincy" are looking for their forever home, preferably together and just in time for the New Year, Is that home yours???? If so, Please apply today!
Bentley
along with many others were seized from a hoarder with 50 cats. Most of the kitties have only felt the touch of one human in their lives and that was not very often. They had to fight for food and are all underweight. "Bentley" got his name because he has terrible ear mites which caused him to have a hematoma in his ear, so his ear looks a little bent up. But his awesome personality makes us for his funny looking ear. He has been neutered, vaccinated, leukemia/aids tested negative and wormed. He has also had revolution and recently advantage applied just in case he had fleas. This handsome young man deserves a real chance at a real good life. He is very vocal and let you know he is around. I just love this little tyke!

Jack
was born to a feral mom cat who unfortunatley has been injured. Jack along with his littermates, Manny, Moe & Jill were swept up and taken into safety where they will receive lots of TLC and a nice clean warm place to sleep. He was born on March 21, 2005. He will be looking for his forever home once he is neutered and vaccinated. He tested negative for leukemia/aids.

Beanie
is sweet, adorable, and affectionate long-haired Calico Kitty Both "Beanie" and her sister "Genie" (also listed on site) are looking for new homes together. Their Owner cannot keep them any longer due to a change in living arrangements. They get along great and at times you see them snuggle together. They both have their claws. Beanie loves to use her scratching post so don't worry about your favorite furniture going to ruins! Both of their vaccines are up to date and both have been spayed at 6 mos old. Both sleep most of the time in a quiet spot - especially if there is sunlight shining thru a window. Beanie likes to play with fuzzy toys and finds comfort sleeping basket or box of some kind. Both are excellent companion cats who have been well taken care of and loved. Please adopt these two kitties together.
Elvis
I’ve had my cat, Elvis, for 7 years. He’s a little nervous most of the time, but is fine with my other two cats. Our problem is that I recently moved in with my fiancé, who owns a cocker spaniel. The other two cats have adjusted very well, and spend a lot of time trying to intimidate the dog. Elvis, however, is terrified of the dog. He won’t leave his room and refuses to do anything if he thinks the dog might be around. If the dog is in the room he just hides in his bed and growls. When the dog is gone, he is okay. We’re been looking for a new home for him for the past month with no luck. He’s a black DSH and is in excellent health. He needs a new place where he won’t be afraid all the time. A foster situation with other cats would be okay too, and we could contribute to cover his food and care. Please contact me today, if you can help "Elvis" live a stress free life.
Genie
is cute, adorable, and affectionate. She is a short-haired Calico Cat up for adoption along with her sister "Beanie" (also listed on this site) who is a long-haired calico kitty. Their owner cannot keep them due to a change in living arrangements. Genie and Beanie have lived together indoors for 7 years. They get along great and at times you see them snuggle together. They both have their claws. Genie's vaccines are up to date and she has been spayed at 6 mos old. Both sleep most of the time in a quiet spot - especially if there is sunlight shining thru a window. Genie is a lap cat who likes to come and snuggle with you on a couch. She is also very people friendly and likes to get attention from people. Both are excellent companion cats who have been well taken care of and loved. I would like to see "Genie" & "Beanie" be adopted into the same household.
Cricket
is a wonderful tiger cat, very affectionate and sweet, with a purr you can hear in the next room. That's how she got her name! Cricket hasn't met a lap she doesn't love. She enjoys conversing with people. She's the type of cat even non-cat people like. They say she's too outgoing and friendly to be a cat. Cricket is also a special needs kitty, born with an extra wrist on her right front paw, and an extra toe on all the rest. She was the perfect addition to our home five years ago, as our son also has special needs and was not yet ready for a dog. However, since adopting Cricket we have added another cat, a dog, and a baby - each of whom Cricket loves. Unfortunately she's also become our dog's favorite herding target, and the extra running play has taken its toll. Recently her limp has become quite pronounced, and she often favors her front paw. We'd love to see her in a home where she'll receive more of the attention she craves and deserves, but preferably not one she'll be chased around all day. We will happily continue to care for her until she finds a home better suited for her needs. If you are interested in adopting this cute little kitty, please contact me today!
Snowball
My neighbor told me about a young man he knows that is forced to look for a new home for his little cat. I told my neighbor that he could tell the young man to call me and I would post it . The young man's name is Victor and he did call me. Snowball came into his life one day when he was walking home. A beautiful little ball of fur came walking out of the bushes and just began walking home with him. When Victor got to his apartment, he unlocked the door, opened it, and this little ball of white fur walked right into his home ahead of him. Snowball picked Victor and that was that. Victor believes that someone must have owned her and moved away because Snowball is very friendly and affectionate. When I asked Victor what she looks like he said "She is beautiful. She is all white except for a little mark of black on the top of her head. She has big amber eyes. She likes to cuddle and likes to get into your lap and visit. Victor is working long hours. The rent in his apartment went up and he had to move out. He discovered that all the apartments he looked at were also expensive. A friend of his asked him to move into his place with him at a low rent. Victor did this in February. His friend is having a bad reaction to the animal hair. He is actually getting worse. Victor need to find Snowball a new home. He said she is very friendly and will adjust well to a new home because she likes people and is so affectionate. Snowball sounds soooo sweet. It seems her journey is not over yet. Snowball needs a good home where she will be loved and safe. She will give back lots of love and friendship. It is who she is. She is three years young and healthy and very beautiful. Her amber eyes will send you cooing. Hope to hear from loving cat lovers soon!
Willow
is looking for her forever home without any other cats in the household. Willow makes the purrfect pet, she just wants to be the only furkid in the house. This way she gets all the love and attention for herself. If you are interested in adopting her, email us for more info.
Merphy
was one of three kittens (see my brother & sister, "Maxwell & Maybeline" also pictured on this site) that were abandonded by their mother in December, 2004. They are somewhat shy of humans at first, but love to play and if given the chance they will be just the nicest kitties. They have not been seen by a vet to date but hopefully, they will soon. He is litter box trained.
Maya
is a total sweetheart ... she is EXCELLENT with children. My toddler, who is rough on her, has put her through the wringer, so to speak. He's pulled her tail, ears, etc and she doesn't even attempt to hiss or spit or bite him. She's SO gentle and such was such a great mother cat. I wish I could keep her but she got into a fight with my old female cat - who happened to pop into the living room just after her kittens were born - it was her being protective - but she just never recovered from that and they don't get along. However, Maya has been sweet to Sparkles (also pictured on website), Catastrophe and Zoey since we brought her in so I'm sure she'd get along with other cats. We don't have a dog so I'm not sure about that. "Maya" is looking for a forever home, is that home yours? If so, contact me today!
Sparkles
is spayed, updated on her vaccines, Feline Aids/Leukemia tested, Negative and approximatly 2 yrs old. "Sparkles" is 'ok' with the other cats but may do better in a home with only one other cat. She seems very overwhelmed here at our house with four kids and all the cats and kittens running around. She hides in the basement mostly. :( "Sparkles" is playful (when she wants to be) and will chase a piece of yarn or play with the kitten toys. She's gorgeous, really. She's really fattened up since we brought her inside, too. She looked SO thin and starving when she was pregnant outside. Breaks my heart to think of it. I think she'd be better off with adults (not that she's ever bitten or mean to the kids) ... she just seems so unhappy here with all the young kids running around. :( Before she got spayed, she was in our bedroom a lot and used to come investigate when my toddler cried in his sleep. She'd jump on the bed and sniff him and lick him. She's very nurturing and even allowed two of the newborn kittens to nurse on her before we realized they were doing it! They wandered away from their mama and into the girls' bedroom where Sparkles was sleeping. They started crying but the door was closed so they couldn't get out and Maya couldn't get inside. I opened the door and found one kitten nursing and Sparkles cleaning the other kitten. "Sparkles" is looking for her forever home, is that home yours??? If so, contact me today!
Sandy
had been living on the streets for three years. A kind neigborhood lady was feeding him, but was unable to afford the costs of taking in another cat that needed plenty of veterinary care. "Sandy" had spent the last three horrible winters living outside on the cold and dangerous streets. The woman that was caring for "Sandy" contacted SWRO and said if we could bring "Sandy" in to safety, pay his medical bills and get him to good health, that she would keep him . When "Sandy" was rescued, SWRO's volunteer noticed that "Sandy" had a terrible looking wound on his side and to top that off, he had a really bad upper respitory infection. "Sandy" was immediatley taken to the veterinary hospital for care. Turns out, poor little "Sandy" tested positive for FIV. "Sandy's" chances of a life indoors with the nice woman who was caring for him all those years, was no longer an option. The woman said she just didn't feel comfortable taking in an FIV positive cat even though we thoroughly explained the FIV disease to her. We are so totally disappointed and looking for a safe and warm home for him once again.
McNair
is very lovable, shy at first but it only takes a second for this guy to hang around and rub all against you. He is a total lap cat and looking hard for his forever home.

MARTI
is so lovable and affectionate. She craves attention. She is so cute and adorable. She loves to be rubbed and petted. She is looking for a forever home.

Mariel
is very sweet. She has been longing for a home that will shower her with love and attention. She is ready to go and has been fully vetted.
Fraiser
is a domestic long haired cat that recently had a lion cut because he was severely matted. Both he and his brother "Golliath" were found as strays and have so much love to give. They would love if you would adopt them together, but if that is impossible, they are just glad one of them would get a home. Contact us today for more information on them.
Cheeder
is just as sharp as can be. He is very smart and looking for his forever home. Right now he is living amoung a bunch of other kitties and an elderly lady but he needs a home to call his own. Is that home yours?
Sophia
was found as a an adult stary and was pregnant. She only weighed 3 pounds when she was rescued. She was so incredbily sick and not doing well for herself out on the harsh streets. She has since been indoors, weaned all her kittens, gained weight and now is ready for a home of her own. She looks incredible compared to the first day she was rescued. She still needs to gain some weight but is healthy. Please give this adorable little a girl a chance and adopt her today!
PUCCI
is a nice cat but a lilttle shy. He needs to be given lots of love an attention to help him come out of his shell. If you have time to give this little guy and are patient, he is the cat for you. He is very beautiful and ready to go to a new home.
Niles
as you can see is such an handsome devil and not a bit camera shy, like his brother "David" is. They were both found as strays and were severely matted. They have since had a lion cut and feel so much better. They are looking for a home, preferably together but if not they would at least like to see one of them go into their new home. Is that home yours? If so, contact us today!
Sophie
is such a precious little girl! She has the sweetest dispostion I've ever seen in a cat. She loves to have her head & neck scratched and will place her head in the palm of your hand until you do so. When she is happy, which is almost all of the time, you'll find her in a comfy position kneading her blanket and purring. Unfortunatley, for "Sophie" she tested positive for The Feline LeukemiaVirus, which makes her chances of finding a new loving home almost next to impossible. You see, The Feline Leukemia Virus is a highly contagious disease which can be transmitted to other felines but NOT to humans (To learn more about feline leukemia, contact us today). Thankfully, a wonderful couple brought "Sophie" inside to safety and surrendered her to S.W.R.O. in hopes of finding her a home. "Sophie's" was living in the couples neighborhood where they were feeding her. In fact, many of the times the couple let "Sophie" come inside their home with their kitties to eat dinner. But the couple couldn't keep her because their landlord has a limit on the amount of cats they can have. The couple explained that "Sophie" has had many litters in their neighborhood and many of the times, she would be carrying a dead kitten around in her mouth as if the kitten were alive. Most likely, the kittens had been infected with the leukemia virus also and that is why they didn't survive. It broke the couple's heart to see this, especially since "Sophie" seemed so excited to show her care givers the nice little present she had reproduced. If you or if you know of someone that is willing to give this poor baby a chance at a nice life indoors, please contact us today! Our heart is breaking for her, as she is currently in a cage in the founders garage, which is not a suitable enviroment for any living, breathing creature. Please help us today, help "Sophie".
Misty
is a beautiful kitty with the looks of a turkish angora, she was one of the kitties trapped during a TNR project. "Misty" is a special needs kitty, not only does she only have 3 legs but she is semi-feral, which means she hasn't had much human contact. Although, the man that fed her colony was able to touch her, he couldn't pick her up. We believe with some socialization and lots of patience, "Misty" could learn to trust more people and really come around, but as of right now, she won't be a lap cat. "Misty" is semi-feral kitty but does not hiss or scrath and has been allowing her current foster mom to pet and rub her. "Misty" would have to be in a place where there is a small bathroom, or other small area where she cannot hide during the socialization process. She would need someone who would commit to sitting with her a while each day or for her to be somewhere where there would people so she can get used to them. But she can absolutely not go anywhere like in a basement where she will be likely to hide or where she can wedge her self into a tight hiding spot!!! Please contact us today if "Misty" sounds like a cat that you can help foster or adopt.
Peety
was thrown out of the house after my owners moved and didn't want me anymore. I just don't understand because I am so affectionate and lovable. I could spend my whole day laying in your lap and giving kisses. I get along well with other kitties and I am even used to dogs. You know being out on the street in South Philly, there are lots of dogs in the yard and they didn't phase me. I don't ask for much, just a warm lap and lots of loving, oh and the occasional can of Friskies doesn't hurt either. I have already been tested for leukemia/aid and was negative. I'm scheduled to be neutered and vaccinated. Please adopt me!!!!
Anna
came from an animal hoarders house. She is a nice girl just needs some socialization which she is receiving in foster care. Contact us for more info or to meet this girl in person.
Maxwell
was one of three kittens (see my brother & sister, "Merphy & Maybeline" also pictured on this site) that were abandonded by their mother in December, 2004. They are somewhat shy of humans at first, but love to play and if given the chance they will be just the nicest kitties. They have not been seen by a vet to date but hopefully, they will soon. He is litter box trained.
Maybeline
was one of three kittens (see my two brothers, "Merphy & Maxwell" also pictured on this site) that were abandonded by their mother in December, 2004. They are somewhat shy of humans at first, but love to play and if given the chance they will be just the nicest kitties. I have been spayed & vaccinated and waiting for my forever home, is that home yours?
Tiger
Hi, my name is "Tiger". I am looking for a home for both me and my sister, "Angel" because my current owner's daughter suffers from allergies and they can't keep us. Right now we have been living in their basement, but that isn't going to be for too much longer. Please give us a chance in your home, we promise that we are the sweetest kitties.
Angel
Hi, my name is "Angel" and both me and my brother "Tiger" are looking for a home, together preferably, but if that isn't possible than we understand. I am 8 months old and very affectionate. I love to be held and given lots of attention. Please adopt me.
Nacho
got her name because she had a notch in her ear. She is the sweetest most affectionate cats. She would do tricks if she could for you. She has been fully vetted and awaiting her forever home, is that home yours?
Cookie
the kitten is such a sweet an adorable little girl. She was found in a recycling bin at an office building, by a wonderful person. Thank god, that person was at the right place at the right time and brought her in to saftey. It was almost like someone decided to dispose of this beautiful creature like she was trash. Since "Cookie" the kitty has been safe inside, she has been bathed, had a flea topical applied, she has been leukemia/aids tested negative and wormed. She will be vaccinated for her first distemper booster in about a week. Please check back often to see updated photos. This little darling kitty won't be around for long, she is just a cute little kitty with lots of energy to explore.
Talula & Tyke
are such a cute pair and they are waiting for their forever home. They were found as strays and have since been taken indoors where they are safe. If you are interested in these two, please contact us today.
Mitch
is a very affectionate cat and very easy going. He was found as a stray, abadoned at one of SWRO's feral colonies. He was there, day in and day out for two weeks, keeping a distance from the feral cats. We were able to pick him up and put him right into a carrier where he was brought straight to the vet hopsital. Unfortunatley, for his lover boy he tested positive for Feline Aids. We are looking to place into a loving home, is that home yours? If so, fill out our adoption application today!
Blue
seems to be more of the Tonkinese breed than Siamese. He has either been abandoned by someone (or lost). He has gorgeous aqua blue eyes (which don't show up well in the pictures!), and he seems to be healthy, although he is very skittish and scared, presumably from being outdoors and having to be on guard 24/7. I had earned his trust enough to pick him up recently, but then made the mistake of trying to get him into a carrier. He freaked out and hasn't allowed me to get really close to him since. "Blue" will need someone to be patient with him, and to provide him peace, quiet and lots of love. He's made friends with another cat that I also feed - they often times stay on my deck for hours, so he is friendly with other cats. He sees my 4 cats through the glass door and isn't deterred by them at all. He has since been brought inside to safety and his looking for his forever home.
Fonzie
is a beautiful black cat with gorgeous gold eyes. His foster mom said of all the cats she has fostered for SWRO, "Fonzie" is by far the most lovable. He just loves affection. He will stand up on her your leg like a dog to be petted. When you pick him up he will cuddle into you like a baby. He loves to sit on your lap and will lick your hand constantly. He is living with another foster cat and gets along well with him. If you always wanted a total lap cat, then you must meet "Fonzie" because he is the cat for you!

ADOPTED!

Cute and adorable kittens Born on or around January 8th. All boys except for the black & white with the strek down her forehead. Contact us for more informaiton.

COCOA & ALPHA MALE
were born 11/16/04 in a play tent in our yard. They are very playful and sociable. The kittens are litter box trained, very playful and sweet. We would like to adopt them out together.
Amos & Andi
the two most adorable kitty cats ever. These two kitties were brought to a shelter where they were going to be euthanized because of lack of space. These two were left unfed because they were about to die. They have since been brought into foster care where they are awaiting their forever home.
Sammy
as you can see from his photo is just as handsome as can be! But unfortunatley for him, he is having a very hard time finding a home. You see, he is a diabetic kitty that requires insulin injections twice a day. Being a diabetic cat lessens his chance of getting a home because no one seems to want the responsibitly of treating his medical condtion. It is very sad for both him and his foster mom because he is a healthy kitty and full of energy and love to give. Wont' you please give this poor kitty a chance of a new life and adopt him? He desperately waits for a new owner that will give him all the love he deserves.
Sweet-pea
is exactly that, a sweet pea! She is such a wonderful cat looking for a forever home. She has been spayed, leukemia/aids tested negative, wormed and is waiting to go home. Is that home yours??? If so, fill out our adoption application today!
Lightning
is as fast as lightning when she sees a person walking her way. She just wants to be the first to greet you. She is full of energy and loves to play. She will entertain you for hours with her silly movements while trying to catch the feather toy. Please adopt her today! Fill out our adoption application.
Jasmine
is so pretty! She posed for each of the pictures we took. She is a prissy little girl that would like to go in a home without dogs. She is a little intimidated by them. She would love to be the only cat but would tolerate them if she had too. She is a sweety pie and a total lap cat. You can meet her at Petsmart in Berlinl, New Jersey. She is awaiting her forever home, will that home be yours???? If so, fill out our adoption applicaiton so that we can send her on her merry little way.

Casey
Hi! My name is Casey and I am a lovable four-year-old male neutered cat. I am litter-box trained and am current with all my shots. I was living on the streets until my present family found me, and sadly, I do not get along with their cats. I am now living with three other kitties and I am looking for a new family who only wants one pet – ME! I am attentive and sweet, and comfortable spending time both indoors and out.

Lorna Doone
Sweet and adorable, "Lorna Doone" was left behind, outside in the cold to make matters worse when her previous owners decided to move to a new neigborhood. With the cold weather already here, "Lorna" tried desperately to get into the neighbors window. Unfortunately, for "Lorna", the five neighbor children that would care for her outside were not allowed to bring her into their home, where it was safe and warm. The children's father was already overwhelmed with having so many kids and adding a cat would just add to the expense that they already struggle with. "Lorna" would soak up all the love, attention and warmth that she could get from the children and then run back over to her old house and bury under the wood chips for warmth. "Lorna" is looking for her forever home, prefereably with kids, she just adores them and just in time for the holidays, is that home yours??? If so, please fill out our online adoption application today!
Winnie
was also living among 36 cats with an animal hoarder. None of the kitties were ever vetted while living with the woman. These poor cats were left unspayed/unneutered and unvaccinated. These kitties were starving, there was just not enough food put out for them all. All the kitties are small and skinny. These poor kitties are looking for their forever home, is that home yours?
Dori
was rescued from an animal hoarders house. The woman had close to 50 cats that were left unspayed/unneutered/unvaccinated. They barley had any food to eat and only had one litterbox among them all that was never scooped. It is a horrible situation and if you were to see where they were housed, you would have nightmares. "Dori" is a very sweet affecationate cat that is looking for a home to shower her with love and attention. She is fully vetted and leukemia/aids tested negative.
Kitty
is a two year old cuddly little cat that is very playful & friendly. He is stocky built and very handsome. Unfortunatley, for "Kitty", he has to find a new home because his current owner is suffering from cancer and is not healthy enough to care for him any longer. She wants to find him a new loving home, someone that will shower him with love and affection. "Kitty" is neutered and vaccinated. Please fill out our adoption application today if you are intersted in adopting "Kitty".
PUFF
is a rambunxious little fellow who loves to play, preferably with another energetic kitten like himself. I could see him really annoying an older kitty because all he wants to do is wrestle. He is the sweetest little boy, with the greatest personality. I would adopt him in a heartbeat, but I have one too many. He has been fully vetted and ready to go to his new home. Contact us today!!!!
Sly
is a black and white, domestic short hair kitty who celebrated his first birthday on September 7th, 2004. His current owner received "Sly" as a gift from her son, but unfortunately, she is allergic to cats and recently moved, and her new apartment complex not allow pets. "Sly" is an awesome little kitty with the greatest personality. All he wants is someone to share his love with and a new family to call his own. Is that family yours????? If so, please contact us today and fill out our adoption application.

Ringo
is quite a character!!! It took close to an hour just to snap those few pictures. He is such a curious lil bugger that we couldn't get him to look our way for more than a milasecond. He wanted to run this way, that way and back again. We tried putting him in a basket, on the floor on a shelf but he was too busy checking everything out. He is an incredibly friendly kitty and would do well with other animals. He was found wandering on 295 and Warwick Road. He would have been killed if it weren't for a SWRO volunteer getting him of the street. He was leukemia/aids tested negative and will be neutered and vaccinated. If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out our adoption application today!

PUFF DADDY
is a rambunxious little fellow who loves to play, preferably with another energetic kitten like himself. I could see him really annoying an older kitty because all he wants to do is wrestle. He is the sweetest little boy, with the greatest personality. I would adopt him in a heartbeat, but I have one too many. He has been fully vetted and ready to go to his new home.
Will Smith
is an awesome little kitty! He is playful and snuggleable. And he is best friends with Puff Daddy. He is easy going and just as sweet as can be.
Chipper
is a 6 year old long haired chihuahua mix with brown and tan fur. "Chipper's" mom is an elderly woman in her 90's, and she just can no longer care for him any longer. He is a great dog, very protective and would do well in a new home. Is that home yours?
Curtis
is quite a character! So active and fun to watch. Both he and his brother "Kiefer" is looking for their forever home. Could that home be yours?
Precious
is a 1 yr old female orange cat that is an ABSOLUTE LOVE, born approximatley 11-20-03. She is so personable, and loves to be in your lap, bed, and talks to you all the time. Her name is Precious and she is already tested for feline leukemia and aids, spayed, and UTD on shots. She does not however like other animals....and will only tolerate children over 15. If you would like to meet her in person, please contact us today.
David & Goliath
were found wandering together oout on the street. David is a orange tabby cat and Goliath is the Japenese bobtail. Both are very affectionae. These two must go together as David believes Goliath is his daddy. Goliath allows David to nurse on him, its just too funny.
Romeo & Juliet
are our FEATURED KITTIES! They are the two most sweetest kitties that came from such a horrific enviroment, of an animal hoarder. Left unspayed/unneutered and not seen by a vet, these two kitties started wasting away, due to competition for a good meal. They are both very skinny and petite. Since these two kitties have been rescued, they have been fully vetted and given a clean bill of health. They are currently being fostered by a SWRO volunteer and given all the food and love they could ask for. "Romeo" & "Juliet" are looking for their forever home, preferably together as they love each other so very much. You will find them butting heads with one another to show their love. Please adopt these kitties today!
Romeo
is such a lover boy! He loves to be rubbed and petted and snuggled with. He butts head with his girlfriend "Juliet" (also pictured on the website). He was rescued from an animal hoarder, along with "Juliet" and a bunch of other kitties. He is just as sweet as can be and would make any person glad to have him in their life. He is so darn funny to watch. He is so affectionate that he'll do anything just to butt heads to show his affection. He is full vetted and ready to be adopted.
Juliet
was rescued from an animal hoarder situation. She along with many others were all unspayed/unneutered and totally unvetted. They were all left in filthy conditions, but still they are so grateful to be rescued. She and her boyfriend "Romeo" are so totally in love and would be so delighted to be adopted together into a new and loving home. "Juliet" is quite shy at first and nestles her head into "Romeo's" chest for comforting. I believe she is not quite sure what is going to happen to her and is a little frightened. But with some time and patience this girl will come around. She is a beautiful, petite kitty that needs to be fattened up a little. She is very skinny, she probably wasn't very aggressive when it came to feeding time, thus her skinniness. Please adopt "Juliet" and her boyfriend, they will make you so happy.
Teddy Bear
is a very lovable, affectionate cat but he insists on being the only cat in the household. You see "Teddy" is currently living with a few other kitties but for some reason, they seem to pick on him. "Teddy" tries to scare them off by growling under his breath but it doesn't seem to work."Teddy" loves to be rubbed and brushed but his current owner doesn't think it is fair for him to remain in such a hostile environment. He is a very smart kitty, that loves to find a nice quiet spot to snooze or even a lap to lounge on. "Teddy" needs a very special home that will fill his life with love and attention. Teddy was born on August, 10th, 2000. He has been fully vetted and has a clean bill of health. He has also been declawed. If you are interested in adopting "Teddy" your household must be free of dogs or other cats and must remain free of dogs and cats as he needs to be in a single cat household since he doesn't get along with other animals, only people.
Suki
Suki's name should be lucky. She is one of the lucky cats we have been able to pull from the 50 cat house. She is a small calico and very loving as all of these cats are. It amazes us that these particular cats are so sweet considering the horrible situation they came from. Won't you find it in your heart to adopt Suki or one of her housemates. As soon as these poor little cats find good homes we are able to remove a few more. Better yet adopt two!!! Dori, Romeo, Juliet, Cinnamon Bear, Bently and Zorro were all Suki's house mates. They are all waiting for homes. Could that home be yours???
Gimpy
is a 3 legged kitty that was surrendered to SWRO because he owner was in a coma and died. Although, "Gimpy" only has 3 legs, you would never know it, he gegts around great and acts like a normal healthy kitty. While his owner was hospitalized and in a coma, the nurses would manipulate her legs and arms to get the circulation going, while the nurse was doing this, the poor comatose woman would call out her kitties name, thinking it was him walking on her. She loved her kitty so much. Unfortunatley, the woman's nephew was unable to keep "Gimpy" and that is when he contacted us to take this kitty in. "Gimpy" is a very gentle, loving kitty. He is just so incredibly depressed losing his owner and now being sent to us. He just doesn't understand what he happening and he misses his owner dearly. "Gimpy" lost his leg when he was attacked by a big dog and unfortunatley, the vet had to amputate his leg. "Gimpy" doesn't let his misfortune get in his way and gets around with no problems.
Carly
is so sweet and affectionate. All she does is rubbed up against you and want to be petted. She purrs for hours on end. "Carly" was found wandering the streets in North Philadelphia, she tried very hard to get into an office building but the owner said no more cats. They already have one office cat. "Carly" was born on or around May 1st, 2004. She is leukemia/aids negative and set to be spayed & vaccinated. If you want a cat that will be in your face all the time and want to offer tons of attention, this is the cat for you! She is just a total luv bug.
Katrina
is a darling little kitty that was living on the street of South Philadelphia. She is a young cat that had kittens underneath a neighbors air conditioning unit. She is looking for someone to love and nurture her. Both of her kittens have been adopted, but she has been left behind. "Katrina" is very nice but also very shy. She tends to go back to doing what she did on the street, which is hide. She loves to be petted, infact, she rolls over on her back so that you don't miss a spot. She would love to be adopted into a quiet home with someone that will work with her to gain her trust.
Dolly
was shy at first but now all she wants to do is curl up on your lap and take a nap. She is full of energy and loves to play with her cat friends. She is looking for a new home. Please adopt her today!
Candy

is looking for his forever home. Is that home yours? He was living on the street with his mother and littermates until a SWRO volunteer swooped them up and took them into safety.
Abbie
Is such and adorable little kitty found hiding in a chicken coop with her feral mom. Unfortunatley, her mom was able to escape but not little Neicy. She was too hungry and couldn't resist the smell of some tasty wet cat food. She will be spayed and vaccinated and be ready for her forever home.
Romeo
is such a lover boy!
Kiefer

Zorro
Meet Zorro, a little black and white cat who was rescued from the 50 cat house along with his brother Cinnamon Bear. He is a little black and white cat that looks like he is wearing a mask . He his such a nice little guy and is so happy to be able to eat as much as he wants without having to share his food with so many other cats most of which did not eat for days at a time.. Zorro loves to play with his new toys. Can he bring them to your house? He has been neutered, had all his shots and tested. Please come and meet Zorro and his brother Cinnamon Bear.
Cinnamon Bear
is a little orange and white cat who is one of the lucky ones to be removed from the 50 cat hoarder house. In spite of the terrible life he has had up to now he is the sweetest litttle cat. As soon has I walk into the room he turns over and just rolls around. He just loves to have his belly scratched and just purrs and purrs. He loves his brother Zorro but they can be separated. Cinnamon Bear has been neutered, has all his shots and tested. He is about a year old.

Tom
is a polydactyl cat which means he has extra toes. He is very handsome and is in need of a home. He has been fully vetted and ready to go. Both him and his brother "Jerry" are the most affectionate kitty cats, ever.
Jimmie
a 10 month old lovable gray tabby was rescued from the streets of West Philadelphia. As soon as "Jimmie" arrived at SWRO, he was tested for leukemia/aids. Unfortunatley, for this handsome guy, he tested positive for leukemia. It is such a shame!!!! and so incredibly upsetting. It breaks my heart because he is such an affectionate kitty that craves attention. He is a total lap cat. He would make any person thankful for adopting him. He is so grateful for being inside and out of harms way. He gives tons of kisses. He is healthy kitty, with a hearty appetite and energy beyond belief. He lets you know he is around by letting out little meows. He is scheduled to be neutered and vaccinated. I want to give this poor little guy a chance at a life, won't you please adopt him and give him that chance. He definatley deserves it! Please contact me if interested in adopting him, you won't be dissappointed :-)

AJ
is quite a frienldy lovable cat, he can just be shy at first. His owner died, leaving his AJ's fate his his family's hands, of course thinking they would find him a new loving home. Unfortuantley, they took this kitty right to the shelter. AJ was so incredibly scared, all he did was shake and cower in the back of the cage, which of course lessened his chances of getting a home. Then one day AJ stopped eating. The people at the shelter decided it was time to put AJ down. One of the volunteers at the shelter contacted S.W.R.O. frantically to see if we could accept this poor little boy before he ultimately met his fate. One of our incredible foster parents, welcomed AJ with open arms, thank goodness! AJ is a two year old neutered male that is declawed. He is up to date on his vaccines and leukemia/aids tested negative. He gets along well with other cats and dogs and loves to be around people. Please open your heart to this little guy and fill out our adoption application today! You won't be dissapointed! Check back for a photo!

Lex
is a black Bombay DSH mix neutered male cat, about 3 years young. He is front declawed. He likes people. His former family had an eight month old baby whom he got along well with. His family had adopted him from the North Shore Animal Rescue in New York. Now they feel the cat is too much work. Instead they are putting new carpets down in the house and going on a cruise. Lex now became too much of a bother for this family. After he gave them three loving years, Lex was just disposed of like yesterdays news. He is now in a foster home but would like a loving forever family of his own. He is playful but also likes to cuddle. He is good with people, babies, children, and other cats. He has not been exposed to dogs, but if the dog likes cats, Lex would surely adjust to the right family. He is negative for FeLV/FIV.
Winston
was found wandering the streets in Blackwood, NJ. He had obviously been dumped, because he was hanging around in the woods and behind an secluded office building. "Winston" was left to fend for himself out on the harsh streets, without any food, water or protection from the environment. Worse part about his whole situation was, he was put out defenseless without any claws. Even if he weren't declawed, I couldn't see him harming a bug. He is so docile and such a total luv bug. "Winston" was immediatley taken to the vet where they performed a whole series of labwork. "Winston" lab results showed that he has kidney and liver problems. His vet prescribed two kinds of medications, a special diet and subcutaneous fluids. Right now "Winston" is in pretty bad shape. He looks like a bag of bones, he is so terribly thin and his eyes are sunken in from living life on the streets with no nutrition, not even water. Even after being through such a terrible ordeal, he still is a happy kitty that purrs and loves to have his neck scratched. We are hoping that over the next few weeks, with aggressive nursing care, that we will get him back to be the cat he once was. Once "Winston" is back on the road to recovery and we feel comfortable that he is healthy, we think he deserves a chance in a new and loving home. He deserves to be in a home that will provide him with everlasting love and a great new start in life. Please keep checking back for updates and new pictures.

Chica
previous home was on a toyota car lot where the employees there fed her. She would lay underneath all the cars and come running out when she smelled the food. The workers there were very concerned that she would get run over since there were so many speeding cars in and out of the car lot. That is when they contacted us, to see if we could help. Of course, we could never turn away a needy cat. So we went to the dealership to pick her up. She was so thin and dirty and flea infested. "Chica" is such a total luv bug, all she wants to do is butt heads because she is so grateful to be safe inside. She has had several baths to remove the dirt and grease and has had advantage applied for fleas. She is looking for a forever home that will be able to give her tons of love and kisses. Is that home yours???? If so, fill out our adoption application today!
Hershey
is a 3 ½ year old black & white kitty that is looking for a new home. Her current owner just had a baby and can no longer care for her or her brother, "Bubba" also pictured on petfinders. She is spayed & declawed. Hershey can be a little shy around new people but warms up fairly quickly. We prefer that "Hershey" & her brother go to a new home together.
Lilianna
was found wandering in Glassboro, NJ. She decided to set up camp in the neighbors backyard and wasn't leaving until they fed her and brought her indoors. But the neigbors needed to find a more permanent solution for "Lilianna" since they had a geriatric cat that wasn't dealing well with the newcomer. That is when they contacted SWRO to ask if we could help. Of course, we can never turn away a cat when we have some room available. As you can see from the photos, "Lilianna" looks quite exhausted! She is very skinny too. But with some time we will fatten her up so that she can go on her merry way to a new home. She will be fully vetted and ready for adoption once she is spayed and has recovered. She was born on approximately February 6, 2004. If you are interested in adoptiong this beautful Calico Kitty, start by filling out our online adoption application.
Emma
Cute and adorable, was found in Voorhees wandering around the yard of SWRO's founder in search of food. Hungry and skinny and a bit shy, she meowed for attention and was taken in and given all that she cried for! She now has a very big cage to call her own with a snuggly bed, a fluffy warm blanket, her own "personal bathroom" and plenty of toys and food! Emma is a happy little girl with a satisfied look of releif on her precious face. She was born approximatley in April of 2003. She has been spayed, leukemia/aids tested, wormed and had a flea topical applied. Emma has since been adopted but unfortunatley the new owner's son is suffering terribly with allergies and Emma has been returned. Molly
is the epitome of LAP CAT! She is an absolutely adorable, little girl with the sweetest disposition one could ever hope for! Molly was rescued off the streets of Philadelphia, having been tossed there like trash after her owner moved. Some neighbors fed her but left her outdoors. Molly was scared and unused to the rough life on the streets. Molly was born approximately in Jaunuary of 2003. Molly is spayed, current on vaccines, has had a flea treatment and been wormed and is leukemia/aids be tested negative. This little girl just loves to cuddle on your lap. Molly was adopted but unfortunatley has been returned because her new owners young son is suffering so badly with allergies. Please give this girl another chance and adopt her today!
Solomon
was given up because his owner's girlfriend is extremely allergic to cats. His owner was going to just release him outside to fend for himself after living with his owner for more than four years. His owner didn't even have enough common sense to contact a humane society or rescue group. Thank god "Solomon's" owner had a sister that cared enough to contact S.W.R.O. to provide "Solomon" with a temporary foster home. "Solomon" is a loving cat that is in dire need of a new home. Won't you be so kind to introduce this poor boy into your home. Fill out the adoption application today

Rocco
is such a little sweetheart. Warm and Friendly and very affectionate. All he wants is to rub his head against your hand to have it scratched. Poor little "Rocco" was wandering all over town scrounging for food and all the while he wondered what would happen to him next. Lexie (black), Lizzie (tabby & white) and Lukie (white) born on or around March 22, 2004, were placed in a boat by their MoM because she thought it was the safest place to keep her babies, while she hunted for food. But what their MoM didn't know was that the owner of the boat, HATES cats and planned on drowning them all in his pool. Thank God a neighbor overheard what the boat owner planned to do. Because she took the poor helpless kittens, even though she had no place to take them. Luckily, she was referred to S.W.R.O. and the kittens have been safe in a foster home ever since. Unfortunatley, their MoM couldn't be located and was left behind. ]These little babies are so frightened without their MoM around, I think it is the first time they saw a human. Although, they are sweet little tykes, they let out a hiss here and there because they are so scared. But time and handling they should act like normal happy, healthy cats. Even at such a young age, these little guys eat like champs but they are not quite sure what to do with their toys yet. is a very lovable, affectionate cat but he insists on being the only cat in the household.

Sydney
Yes it's a bird! And although S.W.R.O. is a cat & kitten rescue, we couldn't turn this adorable little guy "Sydney" away. "Sydney" is a 9 year old cockatiel looking for a new home due to his current owner's son having a servere allergic condtion. The current owner's have had him since he was about 6 months old. He previously had a companion (seperate cages), but she sadly passed away 2 years ago, but until that time he loved having the company. "Sydney" loves to be the center of attention. He will make you laugh for hours as he dances on his perch, sings songs, whistiles at you and says "Rock n' roll, Rock n' pretty bird". He loves to give kisses. "Sydney" is picky about his food, although some cockatiels like a variety, he only likes his seed. When you give him a bath (a spray down) he'll look at you with the cutest eyes, if to say "WHY ME !!!!!!" He used to enjoy flying through the house. He is healthy and has never been sick. Whitey
was rescued from Philadelphia after living months on the street in Port Richmond. His family decided to move out of the neighborhood, putting "Whitey" out on the street and leaving him behind to fend for himself. An older woman in the neighborhood started feeding him but couldn't bring him inside due to her allergies. The founder of S.W.R.O. happen to be in the neighborhood spotting "Whitey" and of course offered a can of wet food right away. At that point the older lady which was caring for "Whitey" came running out of her house trying to flee the founder away because the people in the neighborhood were caught trying to harm "Whitey". At that point, "Whitey" was brought into safety by S.W.R.O. and fully vetted. "Whitey" has since been adopted by and older gentleman and has been happy ever since in a nice warm apartment, being fed on a regular basis. It was a perfect match, two old guys living their days out together. But, unfortunatley, for "Whitey" his new found friend and owner died suffering from cancer. A total devastation to "Whitey" as he grew so attached to his new owner. So once again, "Whitey" needs to find a forever home to live out the rest of his days. Although we are not certain of "Whitey's" age, the vet estimates that he is in his senior years. "Whitey" enjoys spending most of his days looking out the window and lounging around on furniture. "Whitey" is a nice little kitty that needs a new place to call home. Won't you be so kind to introduce this sweet boy into your home and fill his everlasting days with love and affection.
Louie
is a sweet little boy that was found living in a brown paper box in West Philadelphia along with his sister "Lacey'. He is a very handsome with soft fur. He is approximately 7 months old, born on or around April 13, 2003. He was found suffering with an upper respiratory infection along with conjunctivitis. He is being treated by a veterinarian. He has tested negative for leukemia and aids, he has been given a bath, he has been microchipped, treated with Frontline for the fleas and wormed. Once he recovers from his infection, he will be neutered and vaccinated. He would love if you would make room for him in your house and adopt both him and his sister. They love each other so much that they sleep wrapped around each other snuggling. I believe "Louie" is the proud father of "Lacey's" kittens. When Mom is eating, he watches the kids. Its so cute!
Lacey
is a lovable lap cat with a constant purr. She was found in West Philadelphia along with her brother "Louie" where they called a brown paper box home. "Lacey" is approximatley 7 mos old born on or around April 13, 2003. She gave birth to four beautiful newborn kittens on November 14th, a day after she arrived at SWRO. She is all skin and bones but will be well fed and fostered by SWRO until her kittens are weaned, she is spayed and someone is kind enough to adopt her (and her brother ;-). "Lacey" tested negative for leukemia and aids, she has been given a bath, wormed, treated with Frontline for fleas and microchipped. "Lacey" is a special kitty that needs a special home. She is incredibly affectionate and such a good mother. Both her and her brother "Louie" are inseperatable and would love if you could adopt them together. She will be up for adoption toward the end of January, once her kittens are weaned. So keep checking back!
Lacey's Kittens

Their names are "Marisa"(dark brown tabby underneath), "Paulie"(orange), "Ralphie"(brown tabby facing the same way as Paulie) and "Artie"(brown tabby head facing front). They will be ready to be adopted toward the end of January. Check back often to see updated photos!
Mariah
is a goregous white kitty with brown tabby spots. She has big beautiful eyes that almost look as though she is wearing eyeliner. She is approximately 4 months old being born on or around July 16th, 2003. She is an incredibly affectionate cat that loves to have her head scatched. She was living in Momouth county prior to being brought to SWRO, behind a VFW. She along with her colony was about to be poisioned by some cruel inhumane people that did not like cats. Thats when this kind hearted family jumped in and saved her life. This family has been taking one cat/kitten at a time out of such a terrible situation. "Mariah" has tested negative for leukemia/aids, she has been wormed, microchipped, she had her nails trimmed, she has had advantage applied and is scheduled to be spayed and vaccinated. "Mariah" gets along well with other kitties and would be a great addition to any family. Won't you please adopt this cute little girl. Start by filling out the adoption application today ;-)
Eli
Eli was surrendered to S.W.R.O. by this wonderful family who has been kind enough to feed him. He appeared in their backyard hiding underneath a forsythia bush for which he chose as his new home. He is incredibly friendly, vocal and non-aggressive toward other cats. He is a young male that was found unneutered. He will be neutered, vaccinated, leukemia/aids tested and wormed. Contessa
is a beautiful chinchilla persian that was brought to a veterinary hospital to be euthanized. The owner claimed that "Contessa" did not like her new husband. A kind hearted veterinary technician that works at the hospital offered to foster "Contessa" until she could be placed into a loving home. Sparing her the death penalty. Unfortunately, things have changed in the technician's home situation and she can no longer foster her. "Contessa" has been through so much already and she is such a great cat. It takes her a while to come around to trust people, like most persians, but when she does she is very affectionate. She will be 10 years young in November. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines with a clean bill of health. She comes with pedigree papers. "Contessa" is an absolutely stunning cat and will be a great friend to someone. Won't you please adopt this poor little girl.
Stella
has the sweetest disposition one could ever hope for! She is a cuddly kitty that loves to be rubbed. Besides being exceptionally cute, "Stella" has the most wonderful personality imaginable and the loudest purr. She is very friendly, interactive, and loves to play. "Stella" was found wandering the streets of West Philadelphia by three wonderful people, who were very concerned for her welfare. We can't imagine how "Stella" could have become a stray...but we are glad she found her way to S.W.R.O. As soon as "Stella" arrived at S.W.R.O she was given a bath, a nail trim, she was wormed, she has had a flea and tick topical applied, and she tested negative for leukemia and aids. During every one of those procedures all she did was purr, she didn't put up one fuss. She is scheduled to be spayed this week. Won't you please fill out an adoption application today and adopt this pretty little girl.
Veronica
has the sweetest dispostion. She just wants to be held and loved. She loves to nestle in your arm. She along with her three littermates (Vinnie, Vanessa & Victoria) were born on August 11, 2003 to a feral mom who is so elusive, avoiding the trap and continually becoming pregnant having litter after litters of kittens. "Veronica" is one of the lucky ones being caught in the trap and brought into safety. She has a hearty appetite and is full of energy. She has had a bath, had a flea & tick topical applied, has been wormed and vaccinated. Please adopt this kitty, she needs a loving home to call her own.
Victoria
is the cutest kitty! She is full of spunk and fun to watch. She is the littermate to "Vinnie" & "Vanessa" pictured below. She to was born on August 11, 2003 to a feral mom. She has been trapped and will now be fostered by a S.W.R.O. volunteer. She will be given lots of love and handling so that she can be adopted to a loving family. She has had a flea and tick topical applied, she will be vaccinated, leukemia/aids tested, wormed and given a bath. She is too young to be spayed but once she is around 4 mos of age she will be spayed. Please adopt this adorable kitty. Please fill out the adoption application today!
Vanessa
is a adorable little kitten that is a bit shy. She is "Vinnie's" sister (see Vinnie pictured below). After two weeks of trying to trap the rest of Vinnie's littermates, Vanessa finally fell for the food in the trap and has been caught. She was born on August 11, 2003 to a feral mom cat. She is a little scared but with help from S.W.R.O's volunteers she will be socialized and receive plenty of attention with lots of tender loving care to get her used to people. She will have a flea and tick topical applied, she will be leukemia/aids tested, vaccinated wormed and given a bath. She is looking for a home along with her brother Vinnie. If interested in adopting this cute little girl, please fill out the adoption application.
Vinnie
Vinnie is a precious little guy that wants to nestle up in your arms and be loved. He, along with three littermates were born August 11, 2003 on the street to a feral mom cat. The mom cat was the last to cat to catch but then she gave birth to kittens and was nowhere to be found. September 16th was the first day she brought her kittens out to show to the world. One by one, S.W.R.O. will trap the rest of her kittens and then trap her so that she can be spayed and the kittens can find loving homes. If interested in adopting Vinnie, please fill out the adoption application today.
Bear
is a lovable guy that lost his home with his first owner because she had to move to a place that did not allow cats. "Bear" was then adopted by another loving family but their 14 yr old kitty wasn't having it, so he was returned to S.W.R.O after two months. "Bear" is a bit shy at first but once he gets to know you, he wants all the attention for himself. He loves to be rubbed and jumps up to have his head scratched. He is about 3 years old, neutered, vaccinated, leukemia/aids tested negative, microchipped and wormed. He would be ideal in a single cat household, as he tends to shy away when there is another kitty around. Won't you adopt Bear and shower him with love.
Tucker
is a 5 year old Maine Coon cat that has special needs. He is prone to Epileptic seizures and is bowlegged. Although "Tucker" does not have a problem walking, it seems going up and down flights of stairs is rather difficult for him. He is a quiet cat that likes to sleep all day and eat. He is a little skittish, but friendly towards all people. He does not like to be picked up, but loves a pat on the head and a scratch on the back. He has an absolute adorable face with loving, trusting eyes. His owners didn't feel it was fair to "Tucker" that he wasn't getting the care he required and were worried about him becoming injured while they were away at work. Both of his owners work up to 10 hours a day. He needs to find a home that can offer him a special place in their heart with the loving attention that he needs. Please help "Tucker" by adopting him today.
Diogi
Yes, it is a dog! Couldn't turn this sweet boy away. "Diogi" was found wondering the busy streets. After many close calls of getting hit by a car, S.W.R.O's founder was able to rope a lead over his neck and bring him inside to safety. He looks as though he has been on the street for quite sometime. He looks exhausted, hungry and he is now relieved to be inside. He is looking for a nice family to adopt him. Please fill out the application today!

If you are interested in adopting one of our kitties, please fill out the adoption application online or call/e-mail us and request that one be sent to you either by mail or fax. Saved Whiskers Rescue Organization, Inc. prides itself on quality adoptions and works hard to create the perfect person/pet match. Our adoption policies are strict, but our 100% return policy requires us to make the right match from the start. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

ADOPTION PROCESS

1. Once you have chosen the cat that you would like to adopt, please take some time to fill out the required adoption application either on-line or by calling us to receive an application by mail or fax. Please answer all questions honestly. Prospective cat adopters are encouraged to visit the kitty of interest to get an idea of how they interact. We suggest you give it a day or so to think about the decision of adoption. This is a big step for both you and the kitty.

2. Once S.W.R.O. receives your application, it will be reviewed and references will be checked. It may take a couple of days from the time you complete your adoption application until your new kitty can come home. The length of time can depend on how easy it is to reach veterinary and other references. If you rent your home, we will need some evidence that cats are permitted where you live, and that there are no limitations on cat ownership that would conflict with our adoption policies.

3. Once your application is approved, we will set up an appointment either to bring the cat to your home or meet you at a convenient place to complete the adoption process. In order to complete the adoption process an adoption agreement needs to be read, agreed to and signed by the person responsible for the adopted pet and our modest adoption fee must be paid. Veterinary records are provided as part of the adoption process. You will need a cat carrier to safely transport the cat at all times.

4. If you are approved for an adoption, we will ask that you purchase the same type of food that the cat has been eating. If you wish to feed the cat a different type of food later on, you will need to transition to the new food over a 10 day period otherwise the cat may experience gastrointestinal upsets. We do recommend using a premium food for all cats and kittens-good nutrition helps maintain the cat's health, coat, and teeth over its lifetime. Premium food is especially important for preventing urinary tract infections that can cause a cat a great deal of pain and even death.

ALL CATS ADOPTED FROM S.W.R.O. COME WITH A 100% RETURN POLICY FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAT ADOPTED (we don't care if it is 5 or 10 years down the line). S.W.R.O PREFERS THAT THE CAT COME BACK TO OUR ORGANIZATION RATHER THAN ENDING UP IN A SHELTER OR FOISTED OFF ON TO SOMEONE ELSE.

The animals available for adoption from S.W.R.O. come from a variety of sources. All our animals are examined and treated by a licensed veterinarian and their health is continually monitored while under our care. Our adoption fee includes all age-approprate vaccines, examinations, deworming, feline leukemia/FIV testing, microchip and nail trims.

If necessary, treatment for fleas, ticks and ear mites will also be done. All these necessary treatments that are done would cost you much more if your vet were to do them for you. All cats wil be spayed or neutered prior to adoption unless the kitten is under 4 months of age. The adoption fee also helps to cover the expense of food and litter while the cat is in our foster care.

S.W.R.O. is a not-for-profit organization. All fees go directly towards the care of cats rescued by S.W.R.O. We thank-you for considering our organization for adoption and we will do our best to assist you in finding the right animal that is compatible with your lifestyle. Please remember that S.W.R.O. reserves the right to approve or deny any application. No animal will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead and/or fail to provide accuarate information on the adoption application.
